AGM 2017 – minutes

2017 AGM.

1. After a good stint as Club treasurer Gary Knowles has stood down and we have a new treasurer Mike Longthorn. We did have another volunteer for the role Keith Hansom which was very much appreciated but felt that it would be unfair for a very new member to have to take up the role. So Mike is now treasurer and kit man. I’m sure Mike will be an excellent treasurer as his record with the club kit has been top notch.

2. After holding the chairman’s role for 3 years since that fateful night in the Tiger when I arrived late… I have decided to take a break from official duties as personal work commitments have increased. In my place Simon Dongray-Burke takes on the chairmans role, please give him plenty of support as he takes this on.

Gary Trees remains the club secretary.

3. Questions were asked about membership costs for under 16’s.

Answer,
Rule 4 of the clubs regulations states,
4. The annual subscription is £14 for members aged 18 to 60. Junior, Senior & Student membership is £8 per annum.

(please note that the senior here refers to senior citizens over 60).

4.It was asked if links could be posted on website showing details on where to obtain the various racing licences mainly BC & TLI. (new website admins to arrange)

5.Club subsidised Sportive outing.
The voting for the subsidised Sportive was held between the 3 listed below;

a. Richmond 5 Dales. 10 Votes
b. Lincoln GP 6 Votes
c. Louth Tour of the wolds 0 Votes

Link to Richmond CC’s website and entry page, entries are open now. All riders smartly attired on best behaviour and no walking at any point 🙂

6. Club Website
Club website was to be kept and research done to see if cost could be reduced.
To keep the website looking fresh and up to date Rich Foster & Dave Harris agreed to be webmaster’s / archivists.

For these guys to do this they will need some content / pics / heroic tales of cycling etc etc provided by members!

7. VCB road race.
Ian Ridsdale has again agreed to be organiser, and to help with continuity for the future and hopefully share the weight Darren Yarwood has agreed to be his assistant.

8. Cross race.
Venue has still to be confirmed and I will carry on with the organising with assistance from the top notch construction skills of Shaun Roberts.

9. Jolly boys outing.
We are going to have another attempt at getting to Helmsley, and it was felt that this should revert back to later in the year October time and all kit to be carried on the bikes rather than hiring sherpas in motorised transport. Gary Trees has taken on the organising this. Rumour has it it’s quite good at organising a night out!!

10. Thursday night training.
It’s almost time to get back into the swing of things out on the open road rather than in the garage, so Feb 9th was agreed to be the 1st night. Until we decide otherwise winter bikes with mudguards for this and route / groups to be decided on the night to suit who’s out.

11. Reliability ride.
I agreed to put together some sort of route for this and it will most likely be a similar format to last year with 2 route lengths with a cafe stop at the split for those who wish to eat & drink.
March 26th was the agreed date.

I also read out what the current member benefits – all advised on the members Facebook page

All the best for 2017,
Your outgoing Chairman
Rich Cutsforth
