Here's another sportive on or doorstep at Pocklington being run again, from what I can gather from last year, the sign posting was a bit iffy and some of the riders were ending up back at the start after just a few miles.

Another sportive here! Looks pretty tough with 16 categoriesed climbs in the 100 miler.

rich i did the polka dot couple of years ago it was the toughest 100 miles i have ever done! It is very well organised and sign posted and good food stops. As they limit numbers like the big g it doesnt get crazy like some sportives. The 16 climbs are all marked on the course for their length and steepNess think there are 2 climbs which are 5 miles long however everything in between is what would be classed as hard climbs round here!

yes def rich, i would have done it this year however its on same date as the white rose classic, in the past its usually been first sunday in june so not sure why they have moved the date.i was rather glad the weather changed suddenly overnight from a heatwave to chucking it down as it would have been a nightmare ride in the heat!
is everone still on for the brian robinson? i'm quite looking forward to it.
all being well, however due to being bogged down with illness after illness since xmas and currently on antibiotics i havent look at my bike since our club xmas eve ride.so 3 weeks to cobble some fitness together for this event, gulp, am not looking forward to the suffering!
There's one across the river next week, organised from lincsquad Sunday 15th. Shall we do this over club run?
I should not worry about the Brian Robinson (after all he is over 80). It is only about 78 miles and everyone starts off together for the first 6 miles of closed roads before the climbing starts. I am going to use it as a test event after my recent injury and if I can get round at all I shall be satisfied. The weather will be a big factor, since Saddleworth Moor is a pig most of the time and we were very lucky last year with perfect windless, hot conditions.
Nevertheless, the weather is something that every rider will have to endure and a bit of 'Flandrian' spirit will go a long way.
is anyone up for sharing transport to the brian robinson next week? i know oldgit is hanging around to see friends but anyone else?
