Am currently considering splashing out on a new best bike and also considering changing from my old look delta pedals to the speedplay pedals, mainly due to i have read are good for people with knee problems.i want to get my "fit" on the bike correct and also have the cleats fitted and adjusted properly, rather than the "had enough that seems ok" that i usually practice! does anyone know of anyone local or within reasonable driving distance of hull that offers such a thing?

Hi Steve, I'm now a qualified bike fitter, Takes 2-3hrs and I'd do it for you for £50.
Takes around 2hrs, Speak to Paul W as I fitted him up and he seems happy. Give me a call or text tues on 97525 935323 or email benbell28@yahoo.co.uk and I can give you all the info on what it covers.
I'll probably be up there all day Saturday but not 100% sure yet.Posted 2 months ago # -

I used the Specialized dealer in Harrogate for a bike fit. Very thorough, lasted a full half day, but expensive at around £140. This was some time ago when there are fewer options. Like the other posters, I was surprised at the improvements in comfort the comparatively small adjustments made.

Thanks Steve, One thing extra that I bring to the table is my 5yrs as a personal trainer.
This means that I dont just have to play with the bike to get it to fit you, I can give you specific excersises and stretches to get you biomechanically in tune with the bike.
The PT isnt just a piece of paper qualification either, I was on the gym floor training many fatties and slackers.
The bike fit is pretty straight forward, No gimicks, I'll check range of motion, any relevent injuries and adjust the bike accordingly.
Some people use powermeters but that has lots of downsides without real world conditions or a few weeks of data in different environments.
I did my bikefit course through Trek so im qualified with them, there where 15 of us on the course and I would say I left the most competent, 65% of people whoo do the course dont even use it.
My fitness background meant I was more familiar with the language and methods used and also my social skills working with the public where a plus.
Most guys who work in bike shops arent really the type you'd find coaching people.
I'm sure you'll be happy Steve, Make sure you spread the word.Posted 2 months ago # -
