   Can anyone recommend some new bars for me? I'm not a fan of my existing bars which are similar in shape to these,

   I quite like the compact type similar to this,

   But so many to choose from and very difficult to know what will be comfortable etc, what should I be looking for and what should I avoid?

   You might try Deda Newton Shallow which I have put on my new bike (with the ends sawn off) and I think are very comfortable - also quite light (http://www.shinybikes.com/deda-newton-shallow-bars.html)
