Please note we've switched round our two midweek rides, so the nasty hard one is now on Thursdays and an easier (but still hopefully brisk) chaingang is on Tuesdays.
Why? Mainly because of the Road Race League, which is on alternate Thursdays when it runs. Having the 'blood and guts' ride on Thursdays means a) racers won't be killing themselves two days before a race and b) the less arduous ride should be able to build up a more regular attendance. At the moment, in the race season, anyone turning up for the chaingang on Thursdays often has no-one to ride with because all the racers are competing.
We've made an assumption that this change shouldn't bother regular Thursday night riders, because they either race or don't mind a bit of a batter-fest.
I've also suggested they both start at Molescroft to avoid confusion - this is what people are mostly used to. Personally I'd rather they both started from North Bar Within, because this makes it easier to head out SW towards Walkington and some sharp climbs like Brantingham Dale etc.
What do you all think about that?
