If anyone's tempted but not on the road with slick tyres what about this on CX or MTB?

The forecast is for a lovely sunny morning so it'd be a shame to be sat indoors on a turbo.
Whadya say

And for a little inspiration plus some good music if you do decide to turbo,

I say enjoy, I have a choice of road bike or TT bike neither of which will see Tarmac tomorrow! Maybe I need a CX bike :)

Top plan Rich. How long you reckon it will take?
Posted 3 months ago # -
Prob around the 2 1/2-3hr mark but very much conditions dependant and the number of falls or submissions in the deep snow.

Snow way!

Snows stopped now, if anyone fancies joining us were leaving the leisure centre at 08:30.

3 hardy souls set out from the leisure centre this morning Myself, Martin and Paul W.
Martin had to be back for Diy duties so stayed out for an hour or so Paul and I carried on with the original plan ploughing through some deep snow in places and despite several falls no damage was sustained.
Finished of sitting outside Lempicka steaming away gently enjoying a fancy hot chocolate and coffee.

Great route Rich, I enjoyed it - especially after we let few psi out of the tyres- still plenty of crossed up wheels and slides but more grip. It was -2C and misty at 8.30 as we set off, but the sun came out as forecast..it was definitely a good workout for the legs just to keep going, my head was simmering nicely under my hat/helmet at the end :-)

Yes excellent route Rich, a great morning out. I am absolutely goosed now. Had to have a word with myself on the seeingly endless Hudson Way back from Mkt Weighton.
Really good crack learning snow riding skillz, proves you can still get a base ride in full winter conditions. Cross bikes woulda been useless though, soft fat tyres essential!

Jealous, I really need to get a new seat and tyres for my MTB.

Sorry but despite my bravado talk I really thought it was just too snowbound to set out this morning - especially as I only had my best bike with tubulars ready to go. I have to be careful to avoid falls, as broken bones at my age will probably mean a stay in hospital where I would doubtless contract some awful disease and die a horrible death. Well done to the intrepid that braved the elements.
